I’m working on doing small things that make me happy. There are a lot of things about this FS life that I’m not sold on (remember that my husband and I were literally living the dream in Benin previous to our lives working for The Man), and having a baby and a toddler in a tiny Oakwood apartment during language training isn’t always conducive to bliss.
One of the things that I love is writing, and more specifically, blogging. I’m want to spend less time on Facebook and more time writing every day. Language class lets out at 4:30 every day, and I don’t have to pick my kids up at daycare until 5:20 to catch the 5:40 shuttle every day. Forty minutes a day five days a week should be more than enough time for me to crank out a few blog posts per week. Plus, with the snazzy new look and reorganization, I’m a lot more excited about blogging to begin with.
So far, I like it. The cafeteria’s quiet. No kids are screaming my name. Folks tend to pass by when they see that I’m busily typing at my computer. And I can use the peace and quiet in the morning before I wake up the kids to play with paper instead of staring at my screen.
